Vanakkam – My name is Nithya B Sathya, and I have been volunteering with the Tamil School since 2017.

I choose to teach KG and 1st grade because I love being around young children and their pure, innocent minds. There is something special about watching little ones take their very first steps into the Tamil language — sounding out letters, repeating rhymes, and lighting up when they recognize a familiar word. Working with this age group keeps me energized and constantly reminds me why early exposure to our mother tongue matters so much.

Beyond the classroom, I enjoy creating new learning material for children. To extend my teaching beyond weekend classes, I started a YouTube channel featuring Tamil and English rhymes, Aathichudi recitations, short stories, and other content designed for young learners. It allows our students and any child around the world to keep engaging with Tamil at home in a fun, simple way.
